State Sen. Dave Valesky, center, points out some of the improvements at the Clinton Arena last week in preparation for next week’s Clinton Hockeyville pre-season NHL game between the Buffalo Sabres and Columbus Blue Jackets. Valesky came to receive thanks from Kirkland Town Board members Garry Colarusso, Fred Lomanto, Donna Yando and Town Supervisor Bob Meelan, plus Arena director Mike Orsino and County Legislator Chad Davis, for obtaining $350,000 in state funds to help with the cost of a new chiller for the Arena. The old chiller was installed in 1971 and Meelan said funding for the new one came at the perfect time.
