Steve Kemp of Waterville received the Westmoreland Teachers Association’s Friend of Education award for his work for students at Westmoreland on the athletic fields. Kemp has served as the head coach at Westmoreland for tennis, basketball and baseball, and sometimes working with his wife, Darlene, as an assistant coach. He has also chaperoned school field trips as a volunteer. He was presented the award by Nick Darrah.
