Clinton Reports Trash Offenders

Residents of the Village of Clinton have been asked repeatedly to stop putting out their trash too early as some place their refuge to the curbside even days in advance of the pickup time.

Now, officials of the village are cracking down on that streetside clutter, Mayor John Crossley said at their Village Board of Trustees meeting last Monday.

Crossley said at their July 2 meeting that Department of Public Works Superintendent Robert Rockwell has been giving the names of offenders to Codes Enforcement Officer Mike Griffin, who had contacted 16 of them recently. Griffin then spent more than two hours in telephone conversations listening to explanations about why some of them had to have their trash out so early.
