Clinton Ale House Opens

A new restaurant and bar has opened in Clinton.

Clinton Ale House at 43 Meadow St. next to Hannaford’s, opened its doors at the end of May.

Restaurant owner Louis Ollerenshaw and his son, recent culinary school graduate Louis Jr., offer a wide array of home-cooked style food, such as burgers, meat sandwiches, soups, salads, appetizers and desserts.

The bar at Clinton Ale House will have a large selection of craft beers, with many of them being from New York state breweries, Ollerenshaw said.

If you were a fan of the restaurant Taste of Italy in Westmoreland in the 1990s, many of the same recipes will be featured at Clinton Ale House. Ollerenshaw owned the Westmoreland-based restaurant in the 1990s before selling the successful business.

Ollerenshaw, who moved to Clinton in 2015, drove by the then-vacant 43 Meadow St. restaurant building many times. He thought it would be a “nice space to do something small” that would highlight “a family atmosphere.” And that’s when Clinton Ale House was born.
