Ag Commissioner Plans A Visit To MPS

The lunch menu at Memorial Park School will entice several guests to come, including state Agriculture and Markets Commissioner Richard Ball.

Eighteen area school districts, including Waterville and Clinton, and the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES will participate in New York Food Day Thursday, May 31. All of cafeterias that day will serve a menu featuring New York grown and produced food.

The event celebrates the Mohawk Valley Farm to School Initiative; Waterville has been the leading school in that development since the program began with Oneida County Cornell Cooperative Extension. The menu also recognizes the recent adoption of No Student Goes Hungry by state lawmakers.

Ball and other invited guests will dine on a menu at MPS of a New York all beef hot dog, New York apple cheddar salad, sunshine bars, Chobani yogurt and milk from New York dairy farms.
