After winning several titles over the years on the ice, the Clinton community might claim another this month. Hockeyville 2018.
As announced Sunday Clinton stands as one of four places in the United States to be named Kraft Hockeyville 2018. Hockey announcer and historian Stan Fischler’s submission was chosen as the representative story for Clinton and the Clinton Arena.
Winning the contest - which is open to all skating rinks in the country - depends on which of the four finalists gathers the most votes between midnight Friday, April 13 and 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14. The winner will be announced at 3 p.m. April 14 during an NHL playoff game on NBC.
Clinton advanced to the finalists spot after people shared their stories about their passion for hockey in the community. Several of those stories talked about the Thank You, Albert Prettyman weekend celebration in February marking 100 years of hockey in Clinton.
