West Winfield Considers More Community Events

The Village of West Winfield met this month to discuss new business.


The Board approved a resolution authorizing the payment of the General Voucher for $70,849 and the Water Voucher for $11,046.

The Board approved a resolution authorizing a $3,380 voucher for fire truck equipment.


The Board held a discussion about scheduling a budget discussion meeting for Feb. 11 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Trustee Todd Niederlander asked about purchasing a smaller skidsteer for the project.


The AED device ordered for Bisby Hall has arrived and will be installed by Dan Barletta. The Village will provide a CPR and AED certification course.


Trustee Jim Murphy commended Barletta for helping on an ambulance call by plowing a snowed-in driveway, allowing an ambulance to reach the residence.


Codes Officer Mikes Connors said 2024 had two commercial permits with one completed, one septic permit issued, and 11 residential permits with eight completed and three still in progress.


Connors said he completed several fire inspections with one permit held awaiting payment.


Connors talked to the board about a property fielding a trash complaint and a non-permitted fence constructed on the property.


Connors said to expect a potential conflict of interest for some inspection cases expected to go to court.


The Board held a discussion about the legal challenges from a landlord and the legitimacy of their complaint.


The West Winfield Fire Department answered 46 EMS calls in December with seven fire calls and two MVAs.
