The Mount Markham Board of Education met once in December to discuss new business.
MMCSD Elementary School Principal Jennifer McDonald spoke to the Board with an update on the Elementary School. McDonald said the kids are loving the house system and have had a very enthusiastic response of students helping each other.
McDonald added the PBIS system has made a difference in giving support staff comfortable to voice suggestions. "Thank you to the Board," McDonald said, "for supporting us implementing programs that help the kids achieve like we hoped they would."
The First Grade Intervention of Mastery results were released with McDonald highlighting students were fluent in reading but not with comprehension. She pointed out the progress results show comprehension by third grade.
The Board approved a resolution accepting the Nov. 15 meeting minutes.
