Storm Sewer Bid Approved

The Village of Richfield Springs approved a bid for the Stormwater Project at their February meeting.


The bid of $502,500 from Boss Landscape was approved 3-0 by Mayor Richard Spencer and Trustees Robin Moshier and Fred Culbert. Trustees Luke VanRiper and Brian Boss abstained.


Right before the vote, Brian Boss was appointed to fill a vacant seat on the Board.


Board members approved Leak forgiveness bills of $1,1413, $116 and $74.


The new DPW plow truck arrived but without the rear wheel inserts as specified.


Both the Village and the dealer failed to notice the omission.


Board members approved spending $1,995 to add the inserts.


The water system was experiencing a leak of at least 100,000 gallons per day.


As of the meeting, the department had not been able to locate the source of the leak.


A Board discussion addressed payment of triple time for working on holidays.


The Board approved turning off water services for users outside the Village who are in arrears on their accounts.


The Board spent an hour in executive session discussing the possible acquisition or sale of property.


After the executive session, the Board voted to discuss with a particular landowner purchasing property to situate a new firehouse.


At their earlier February meeting, the Board approved the purchase of 50 bags of ice melt for $1,125.


Board members also approved the purchase of 10 ADA mats for $1,426.


Resident Dan Sullivan told the Board he is the grants administrator and data officer for Otsego County.


The Garden Club asked the Board to install electricity to the herb garden in front of the Library.


The Board asked the DPW to get estimates.


Leak forgiveness of $1,084 and $849 was approved.


A contract with Millers Cleaning Service at a weekly rate of $110 was approved.


The Board had a 45-minute executive session to discuss a sealed bid proposal and employee matters.


After the executive session, the Board approved and submitted a sealed bid for a 2006 rescue pumper for the Richfield Springs Fire Department. ...
