Richfield Springs Central School Board of Education members heard projected expenses for the 2022-23 budget at their first March meeting.
Transportation Supervisor Stan Grose presented the proposed transportation budget for 2022-23. Elementary Principal and CSE Chairperson Dr. René Wilson presented the proposed teaching and special education budgets. RS Superintendent Tom Piatti referenced the secondary teaching budget on behalf of Principal Matt St. Peter.
BOCES District Superintendent Sandy Sherwood presented the 2022-23 Administrative and Capital budgets. BOCES Assistant District Superintendent Jim Picolla spoke about the proposed Capital Project. Component school boards will vote on the BOCES administrative budget and board member election April 20.
Piatti commented on the positive energy in the school due to the end of the mask mandate and the success of the boys basketball team. He talked about student attendance in February.
Piatti said curriculum development and restorative practices will be the main focus for the Superintendent’s Conference Day and said secondary data meetings will now be changed to department meetings.
