Road Work Set For Sangerfield

At their April meeting, the Sangerfield Town Board heard about an increase in their insurance costs.

Scott Fortnam of Gates-Cole said there would be a $1,600 increase in the premium.

He also spoke about cyber crimes and the impact on towns.

Board members approved having Fortnam look at the cost of adding cyber security to the policy; he estimated it would be about $1,500.

The Town approved having McCabe and Craigfoot roads paved at a cost of $156,055.

CHIPS money will be used to pay for the work.

Highway Superintendent Karl Buschor said the pressure washer would be replaced.

Board members also approved a new truck body at a cost of $169,339, which includes installation.

Supervisor Bill Lachmann said he was waiting on design and engineering information for repairs to the Highway Garage.

The Board approved a checklist to be attached to every application for a zoning or building permit.

Lachmann said he wanted to look into buying the former Farm Credit East building for use for Town offices.

New Codes books were ordered to update the ones from 2010.

Codes Officer Gene Whipple is looking into help for four abandoned houses in the town.
