The Regular and Organizational meeting of the Plainfield Town Board was held Jan. 11 at the Town Hall.
Supervisor Todd Lewis opened the Regular meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Prior to the Regular meeting Gates-Cole Insurance updated the Board with changes to the town’s insurance. Further information as requested by the Board will be forwarded for final decision.
Assessor John Davidson reported he is processing exemption renewals and getting new construction valuations.
Highway Superintendent Rod Jennison was not in attendance, but left a request for approval to purchase pressure washer at a cost of $4,899.98.
The Board approved the purchase.
Hamilton Accounting sent the December 2023 Supervisor report.
Disbursements, revenue and balances were contained.
Town Clerk Jon Cockett presented the December 2023 report. There was a total sale of $60.
The Town Clerk presented for payment the General Abstract No. 13 in the amount of $1,045.32.
The Town Clerk presented the Highway Abstract No. 13 in the amount of $1,061.78 Both were approved.
The Town Clerk presented for payment General Abstract No. 1 in the amount of $4,376.64. The Town Clerk presented for payment the Highway Abstract No. 1 in the amount of $9,862.54. Both were approved.
The issue of resuming sales of sporting licenses for a trial period was addressed. The Board approved the trial period.
Interest was shown to install an electronic lighted sign that would advertise Town information, meetings and other news. The sign in question is similar to Bridgewater Town Hall and Fire Department.
The Town Clerk will research and report back in February.
Lewis opened the Organizational meeting at 8:10 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Appointments were made.
The Dog Control officer allowance for gas mileage as requested shall not exceed $100 for the year.
Policies for the year were adopted.
Salaries and wages were set.
