Optimists Sponsor Free Senior Citizens Barbecue

Plans are being finalized for the annual Mount Markham Optimist Senior Citizen Chicken barbecue.

This year's event will be July 26 at the Town of Winfield Memorial Park.

This is a free chicken barbecue to all Mount Markham area senior citizens.

Serving will begin at 1 p.m.

There will be 50/50 raffles, plenty of food, and a chance to visit with people you only see once in a while.

Deliveries to shut ins will be available, but we encourage everyone, if at all possible, to come out and join us.

You won’t regret it.

Also plans are being made for our annual Golf Outing.

This year's outing will be at Barker Brook Golf Course in Oriskany Falls Aug. 8.

This is a four-person captain and crew format. Cost is $75 per person that includes golf, cart, putting contest, hot dog, prizes, and buffet dinner.

Tee-off is 9 a.m. sharp. We have room for more teams.

We are also having hole sponsorship.
