New Reading Approach Set In Clinton CSD

The Clinton Central Schools Board of Education met Tuesday evening to discuss new business.

CCS Elementary Principal Ed Waskiewicz said Elementary School students held a P2 assembly with the CCS High School P2 club. The topic was self-control.

Students performed a skit about self-control, HS students read a book about self-control to the ES students, and a game of Simon Says was played.

A friendly game of Castle Ball was played between the K- 2 teachers versus the 3-5 teachers.

Waskiewicz said the assembly helped the ES work towards its building goal of providing a positive environment for students and teachers inside and outside the classroom.

The ES held a Holiday Sing-Along Assembly for teachers and students to sing Christmas Carols before winter break.

A Kindness Tree was available in the Main Office with a different teacher or staff member placed on top of the tree as the Star of the Day.

Lightbulbs decorated the tree with stories about acts of kindness students witnessed to share.

Waskiewicz said it was a step towards reaching the ES goal of a positive school culture.
