Mount Markham Graduation

The Mount Markham Class of 2025 spent their last hour as students, hearing advice as they leave High School.
On a cool and windy night—but the rain held off—the graduation ceremony at Mustang Stadium graduates, faculty, family and friends celebrated the milestone.
High School Principal Victor Zampetti welcomed everyone and introduced the faculty who are retiring this year.
He then introduced salutatorian Jonah Hecker, who told a story to illustrate the cliche he decided to use, he said. “Find your purpose and don’t fall to pressure to follow others. Good luck and have fun.’’
Teacher Kimberly Trevisani was chosen as the guest speaker, talking about how history and stories are closely connected.
Using quotes from literature, Trevisani offered advice on considering things from someone else’s point of view, handling the cards you are dealt in life and making people feel important.
“Focus on who you want to be,’’ Trevisani said. “Write your own story and make it worth reading.’’
Zampetti recognized students who had earned college credit, work-based experience and a Clark Foundation scholarship.
When most of the class stood as having earned at least one college credit, the audience in the bleachers applauded.
Valedictorian Aubrey Hartman wove in humor with her look back at her class and what comes next. “Exhausted faculty and staff, proud and relieved parents,’’ she said, “we are the pioneers of minimum effort and maximum vibe.’’
