Hartman, Hecker Lead Class Of 2025

Victor Zampetti, Mount Markham High School Principal, has announced the 2025 Mount Markham Central School Valedictorian and Salutatorian.


The Valedictorian is Aubrey Hartman and Jonah Hecker is the Salutatorian.


Aubrey is the daughter of Steven and Janet Hartman of West Winfield.


Hartman will attend Mohawk Valley Community College for Nursing.


Hartman will graduate with 36 college credits having taken College Sociology, College Psychology, College Chemistry, College Pre-Calculus, College CPR/First

Aid, College Macroeconomics and College American Government through Herkimer College’s College Now program.


Her rigorous course load included AP European History, AP English Language and Composition, AP U.S. History, and AP English Literature and Composition.


Hartman has a long list of awards and activities in and out of school.


She has been a member of National Honor Society since her Sophomore year.


She received the Top Student Award all four years of high school and the Above 90 Average Academic Award all four years.


She received academic awards such as the Bausch & Lomb Science Award, Elmira College Key Award, Keuka College George H. Ball Community Achievement Award, RIT Women in STEM Award, Student Sage Award, Le Moyne College Heights Award, St. Bonaventure University Bonnie Scholarship Award, Saint Michael’s College Book Award for Academic Achievement with a Social Conscience.


She was named the September 2024 Optimist Youth of the Month.


Hartman has also been active for four years in the sports program, playing Varsity Soccer, Junior Varsity and Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Tennis and Track and Field, receiving the CSC Scholar Athlete Award all four years.


Hecker is the son of Christopher and Melanie Hecker of West Edmeston.


He will attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to major in Aerospace Engineering.


Hecker has taken a solid course load all four years. He will receive 23 college credits ...
