As Brookfield Central School administrator Ron Pavlus prepares to take over as BCS superintendent, a delay has meant a temporary change in titles for some BCS staff.
This year Pavlus, a longtime elementary teacher, has been the building principal as he works with Superintendent Jim Plows, who is retiring in June.
Plows returned part-time this year to the position.’
Last week BCS said a delay in Pavlus’ certification with the State Education Department required a temporary title change. Pavlus is now Dean of Students.
Carrie Smith, who has been principal but took on the role of supervising curriculum to close the pandemic academic gap, will return to her role as principal.
Plows said last week the District hopes to remain on schedule to replace him with Pavlus at the end of June.
