The December meeting of the Town of Marshall opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the approval of the November minutes.
Chris Steinmann resigned from the Town Board. He cited his work schedule which made it difficult for him to do the job properly.
Josh Knutti of Shanley Road was appointed to fill out his term until November, when the seat will go up for election.
Kristen Collins spoke on the speed limit on the road between Sawmill Road and Green Road. She suggested a speed limit of 40 mph on that stretch be proposed to the Department of Transportation. The Board agreed to this.
Rachel McNamara asked the Board if any more had been done regarding her complaint of dogs running loose in the town, now that Rich Bennett is willing to be Dog Warden. Bennett is still waiting for a contract, and he asked if he could be paid for ground-work he had done in November to prepare for the job. The Board approved that.
Bennett said he needed more information and documentation from Justin Nackley, the Town Justice, about various summons that had been issued before he came on board.
