Concern Raised On Possible Plan

The agreement between the City of Utica and Village of Waterville to tear down a house has been approved.
During a short meeting last week, the Waterville Village Board approved the Shared Services agreement.
The house on Buell Avenue, given to the Village after the owner decided not to bring it up to codes, will allow the Village access to the creek.
Most of the meeting was taken up talking with a Hanover Road resident who opposes a project that could be submitted for New York Forward grant money.
The resident said the area is also not zoned for commercial use.
The meeting was the last one for Whitey Brown, who is retiring as Codes Officer.
Mayor Gene Ostrander and Board members thanked him
for his service.
Brown said the former Brainard home on Putnam Street is being converted into four apartments.
