Two situations that irritate residents of Waterville have no ready solutions for addressing them.
Last week’s Waterville Village Board meeting again saw most of the 75-minute meeting focused on the sinkhole in front of Schoolhouse Apartments, along with concerns about the three smoke shops in the village.
In response to complaints that the smoke shops make the village look bad, Mayor Gene Ostrander said Codes Officer Whitey Brown has been citing them for violations of signage.
Advertising signs for vape materials at the East Bacon Street shop had to be taken down because of its proximity to Memorial Park School, while the Main Street shop was cited ...
The sinkhole is a result of the Village of Waterville’s neglect of the reservoir that breached, that Village covered up. When is the Village officially going to take claim of the disaterous results that the poorly managed pond system and the breach that not only destroyed local homes but lead to the destruction of homes in Whitesboro. A federal investigation needs to be conducted and Waterville officials need to be jailed for their knowledge and cover up by them and Anthony Pisente. This is long overdue.
