Community Can Enjoy Events For Free In Park

West Winfield Star

The Village of West Winfield and Town of Winfield are teaming up, with help from the Mount Markham School District, have scheduled events for the community.


The first one is Monday, Aug. 19.

The New Horizons Barbershop Chorus, with local group Full Circle, will present a concert at the Winfield Memorial Park.


The group will perform in the new pavilion, which has seating. People are also encouraged to bring chairs.


For added fun, audience members are asked to come in period appropriate dress from the era of Barbershop Quartets. Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed male and female.


A Fall Festival will take place at the Park Saturday, Sept. 28 from 12:30 to 4 p.m.


Activities and food are free thanks to donations from local organizations and businesses.


Touch a Truck will include the town’s plow, a garbage truck from Wheelock Disposal, fire trucks and tractors.


A magician will give a show at 2 p.m.


Crafters and vendors can set up for free. A corn hole tournament for adults and kickball games for kids are scheduled.


Free food and beverages include fried dough, cider and apples.


Anyone willing to help or donate can call the Village Office at 315-822-3051.


The second annual Holiday Festival is set for Saturday, Nov. 30.


Events will be set up throughout the Village again with free activities for kids.
