Codes Officer Still Sought

The Town of Winfield Board met recently to discuss new business.


The Mount Markham Optimist Club spoke with the Board to request the purchase of new aluminum bleachers at the Little League and Softball fields in the Town Park. The Board approved a resolution for the purchase of the four bleachers at a cost of $6,808.


The Board approved a resolution accepting the General Fund Claims and the Highway Fund Claims.

The Board approved a resolution accepting the Supervisor's and Town Clerk's reports. The Board approved a resolution accepting the Dec. 14 meeting minutes with corrections.


The Board approved a resolution to join the purchase list for a new Highway Department Supervisor's pick-up truck. The Board approved a resolution to requote the price of the pick-up.


One building permit was issued for a finished septic repair project.


The Town has received no applications for the Zoning/Codes Officer position or for the opening on the Planning Board.


Board member Sue Korosec said she spoke with a Planner from New York state, Once the Town Book is finished the book will be sent back to the State. Korosec said she had issues with no Comprehensive Plan being in the Town Book. The Board held a short discussion about the Town Book and clarifying outdated language in some sections.


Board member Jay Kulczak said he found a website provider for the Town he's comfortable with. Cost for the Town would be about $500 annually.


The Board held a short discussion about purchasing more for the Town playground. There was a short discussion about Town Board members’ official business email accounts.


The Board held a short discussion about the clarification of language for signing checks. The Board held a short discussion about the EMS and Firefighters Tax exemption.
