Clinton High School’s Science Olympiad team has qualified for states for the fifth consecutive year, and the team’s seniors are cherishing their last moments.
Many of the club’s seniors have been competing in Science Olympiad for most of high school. The team will be losing seven seniors this school year along with all current officers: Alicia Amuso; James Klein, secretary; Izzy Marcus; Isla McCullough, vice president; Landon Stilz, treasurer; Oliver Walters, president; and Alison Wratten.
“At the upcoming competition, the goal is to at least place in an event but also to have fun because it’s the last Science Olympiad competition I’ll do,” Walters said. Walters has been a member of the High School’s Science Olympiad team since his ninth grade year and the president for one year.
Students compete in various science events. For the 2023 state competition at LeMoyne College this month, Clinton will be entering almost all the engineering-based events.
