Books In Homes has been a long-standing program at Mount Markham Elementary School for over 15 years.
It has brought much joy to the children we educate.
Our mission is to foster a love of reading by helping children build their home libraries at no cost to them.
At Mount Markham Elementary, we host a couple book giveaways a year, where all the students can browse many genres, books appropriate for their reading level, interests and more. For every book giveaway, students get to pick two to three books each time to take home and keep for their reading pleasure.
The children also get to pick books throughout the year as they read at home.
Each time they complete a reading record sheet, they can turn it in for a book.
The more they read, the more books they can add to their home libraries.
