The Town of Kirkland Board met Monday evening to discuss new business.
Supervisor Bob Meelan said bids for the Clinton Arena floor project had been reviewed. The Board voted to award contracts for Mechanical to Ice Builders for $390,000 and General Construction to National Building & Restoration Corp. for $698,000.
Resident Margaret Olson, Sanford Avenue, asked why the Kirkland Town Park can't be open for Winter use.
Meelan said it's a liability issue. “If you open the park, you have to have full services," he said.
Olson also asked about having a town alert system and having rain barrels and rain gardens around the Town with Oneida County's Ripple-Effect program.
