Hearing On Solar Law In Kirkland


The Town of Kirkland Board met Wednesday night, Aug. 26 for new business and the public hearing on the Solar Law.

David Spots of Summit Solar said the company was appreciative of the law and would not move forward if the law didn't contain certain land allowances.

There was some discussion regarding how land around roads built for the solar arrays and the arrays maintenance would be serviced.

Carol Gable was approved as the task force coordinator for the Climate Smart Communities committee.

An authorization for $8,000 from building payroll to unemployment insurance was approved.

An authorization for two $16,000 appropriations was approved.

The next Town of Kirkland Board meeting is Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.
