Barton Fund Helps WHS

The Waterville Historical Society received a grant from the Edward S. Barton Fund, Bank of America, N.A., Co-Trustee.

The grant of $30,000 will improve security and safety of the building and collections. The grant will be used to purchase and install a fire alarm system connected to the Waterville Fire Department.

Also to be installed is environmental monitoring equipment to track temperature, relative humidity, and light levels in the collections storage and exhibit areas as a basis for improving environmental controls. Electrical service will be expanded in the Barton Hall gallery and meeting room for greater flexibility in using the room for programs and exhibits.

The full story is in this week's edition of the newspaper.
