The Clinton Board of Education met last Tuesday night for their second meeting in February to discuss new business.
The Clinton Elementary School Bright Spots began with the new first grade students are learning how to keyboard with a new program, "Keyboarding Without Tears."
Fifth grade students met with Mary Ellen Wiley from the Cornell Cooperative Extension for an Agriculture in the Classroom lesson about popcorn.
Third graders and kindergarteners teamed up to make Valentine's Day projects. They made heart-shaped bird treats.
Third graders also created their own Valentine's boxes. Highlights included a large battleship, and a vending machine filled with real candy.
Some Clinton boys varsity hockey players visited the Elementary school to read to students. Clinton Elementary students were so excited the hockey team took the time for them, according to Principal Ellen Leuthauser.
Mary Hayes Gordon met with fourth and fifth graders Feb. 25. to give a presentation on the local and national history of the Underground Railroad.
The Middle School Bright Spots began with thanking author Jarrett Krosoczka for meeting with the CCS district and continuing to inspire and motivate students to read and write.
