Clinton Beats Indians For 10th Straight Win

The Clinton Warriors won their 10th straight game against the Waterville Indians in their rematch since the memorable season opener.

 

The Warriors won 67-58 with an aggressive and accurate attack on offense and defense. Clinton improved to 12-4 and Waterville dropped to 6-10.

 

Waterville hung tough in the first half but the Warriors pulled away in the third quarter as the Indians went cold and the second half run was too much for WCS to recover.

 

Waterville won the tip and missed their first shot of the game as Josh Wilcox grabbed the rebound for Clinton. Clinton missed and Nathan Johnson grabbed the board, leading to a trey for Johnson. Johnson then picked off a steal but Waterville turned it over. 

 

Clinton turned the ball over after good hands from Cole Pearsall disrupted their possession. After two minutes of the first quarter it was still 3-0 Waterville. Wilcox drew a foul and made the first free throw. Wilcox missed the second and Johnson grabbed the rebound but Waterville turned it over. 

 

Tanner Deveans made a layup to tie the game at three and Clinton scored next when Eddie Llanos drove and kicked to Deveans for three. 

 

Devin Barnes made a baseline jumper and Clinton answered with a 3-pointer from Noah King off a pass from Llanos. Johnson grabbed another rebound and Waterville turned it over and called timeout.

 

Deveans drove and was fouled and made a free throw to make it 10-5 Clinton. WCS missed two free throws and Daniel Fitzgerald made a driving layup. Waterville made a layup and forced a Clinton stop but turned the ball over on a travel. 

 

Good hands from Gabe Williams led to a block for Johnson but Waterville couldn't score. Jake Neff grabbed a defensive rebound and Pearsall grabbed…
