Expo For Women Jan. 29


The first Women in Business Expo takes place next week.

The Expo is Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Delta Hotel by Marriott on Genesee Street in Utica. It’s hosted by the Mohawk Valley Business Women’s Network.

According to the Network’s website, “The Mohawk Valley Business Women’s Network is committed to empowering female entrepreneurs and women in business by supporting them through all phases of their business and personal development.”

Next week’s Expo will feature more than 60 woman-owned and/or managed businesses in a variety of different business categories. The public is invited to this special event and is encouraged to get to know the businesses in attendance, a press release stated.

Colleen Furmanski, vice president of the MVBWN board, is a local business owner with many ties to Clinton. She owns the home and business cleaning service Nooks and Crannies, is vice president of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and a resident of Clark Mills.

Less than a year into owning her business, Furmanski joined the MVBWN. Since joining, she said she’s gained more ideas and knowledge about running her business.

“A lot of us, when we start businesses, are kind of learning as we go,” she said.
