New Year


Town of Kirkland councilmen Mike O’Neil and Rick Maxam take their oaths of office last week during the town board’s reorganizational meeting. Maxam was elected in November and attended his first meeting. During the 15-meeting the board approved appointments and salaries for 2020. Some new ones for this year include Patti Maxam as Recreation Manager and Wayne Clipston as Maintenance Manager for the Parks and Recreation Department. Richard Williams was appointed to his 20th year as town historian. The board also accepted the resignation effective Dec. 31 of Marc Goldberg as second deputy registrar of Vital Statistics. The town board’s next meeting is Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. at Kirkland Town Hall. It will be a joint meeting with the Village of Clinton Board to discuss ways to promote energy efficiency in the community.
