Shop And Stroll In Clinton

November 26, 2019

A decades-old holiday tradition kicks off another year this week.

Clinton’s Shoppers’ Stroll takes place Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29 and 30, with each day packed with activities for the whole family.

“Village businesses and community organizations offer complimentary food, drink, hospitality and music both days and Friday evening. The area churches have bake sales, holiday crafts, food and pie sales as well as holiday music.

“Non-profit and civic groups set up different types of sidewalk activities like selling roasted chestnuts, hot pretzels, buttery popcorn, hot cider, and more,” the Clinton Chamber of Commerce website states.

Those events include Pack the Pantry, to help The Country Pantry by filling a bus donated by Hale Transportation with food, blankets and dish towels. The Clinton Historical Society will be open both days as well as the Kirkland Town Library, and Stone Presbyterian Church, with all three places offering holiday items for sale.

Music will be set up Friday throughout the downtown area.

Favorite activities that will return to this year’s Shoppers’ Stroll include horse-drawn wagon rides, a tree-lighting ceremony, carolers throughout the village and a holiday parade at 7 p.m. Friday. That follows the tree lighting in the Village Park at 6 p.m.
