Two area cross country runners took their seasons down to the final day of the sport.
Clinton sophomore Madison Luke and Waterville senior Dylan Williams competed at the state meet at SUNY Plattsburgh last Saturday. Luke finished ninth in the Class C girls race and Williams was 28th in the Class D boys race.
Williams was the 10th-place finisher for Section Three, which won the Class D boys race and had the best finish in all the boys races for the state title.
Luke took fifth for the Section Three girls, who also won the Class C meet and finished best of all the sections in the meet.
