Bulldogs Lose In Sudden Overtime


Westmoreland/Oriskany’s boys soccer team, coached by Gil Palladino of Clinton, lost in sudden overtime in the Section Three Class C championship game last week.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 halftime lead after scoring three minutes into the game. The Cobras tied the game in the second half with 22:40 to play. The winning goal came about two minutes into the overtime period.

Both teams were playing for their first sectional title. While coach at Clinton Central School, Palladino’s teams won two Class B titles.

W-O finishes the season with 14 wins, 5 losses and a tie. Bishop Grimes improved to 17-3 and moved on to play Lansing in a regional game last weekend.
