A few local teams cracked the New York state high school sports polls to start October after successful Septembers.
The Clinton boys soccer team went from unranked to No. 4 in Class B, tops in Section Three. Waterville boys soccer stayed No. 5 in Class C, also best in the section.
Waterville’s girls soccer team went from unranked to No. 10 in Class C and the Indians girls cross country team showed up at No. 8.
The Waterville boys cross country team debuted at No. 10.
Clintons girls soccer team rose from No. 3 to No. 1 in Class B, but will drop this week after their unbeaten streak to start the year ended.
And Clinton football, which mulled going to eight-man in the spring, showed up in the Small schools poll at No. 19.
