Waterville’s cross country teams played host to a meet last week with visitors New York Mills, Herkimer and Mount Markham. It was also Senior Night to celebrate seniors Alexis LaFever, who attends Morrisville-Eaton; Dylan Williams and Brooke Wilson. Williams finished first in the boys varsity race, with teammate Nikko Recchio second. Other top 10 finishes for Waterville came from Gabe Williams (5th) Rocco Padula (6th), Payton Hirsch (7th) and Logan Misiaszek (9th). Josh Drake of Madison finished 11th. For the girls varsity, LaFever finished 6th, behind teammate Lydia Snow’s first-place run. Ella Stuttard was ninth. In the junior high race, Sam Jones of Waterville was third overall and first for the Indians, while Hanley Poyer finished ninth in the girls race. At a meet earlier at VVS, Snow had Waterville’s top girls finish at 12th. Clinton’s Taylor Harvey was eighth. Dylan Williams was sixth in the boys race.
