Reading Into The Night

The Kirkland Town Library's 24 Hours of reading event was a successful way to end the summer activities.


Dozens of people could be found on the library lawn all hours of the day to listen and read selections of classic literature. Bruce Coville’s Alien books began the party Friday morning. 


Through the early evening, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was given an energetic performance by many great readers. As tents were set up for the night, the late-night read of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was performed. 


Hamilton College students and others camped out in sleeping bags or wrapped up in blankets; their laughter slowly turned to snores as the night wore on.
