That was the feeling a Clinton couple had after their nearly 13-year-old Newfoundland dog wandered too far from home.

When Gloria and Dennis Destefanis noticed their elderly dog Smitty Bear was no longer in the backyard, they started looking for him. A few hours of calling the dog’s name turned up no results.
