Brookfield Discusses Buying New Trucks

August 22, 2018

The Town of Brookfield will begin getting cost estimates for a new truck to buy next year.

At the Brookfield Town Board meeting last week at the North Brookfield firehouse, Supervisor John Salka said the town fell off its rotation plan to replace trucks. The program started a few years ago to buy new trucks before older trucks cost too much in maintenance costs.

“We’ve invested a lot in equipment, which was necessary,’’ Salka said. “We need to keep up with it.’’

He asked Highway Department Superintendent Paul Owens to pull together some numbers. Salka said that will be useful as he begins work on the town’s 2019 budget.
