Marshall Discusses COCVAC

There was much discussion at the June Marshall Town Board meeting concerning the Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corp crew.

COCVAC is using a trailer for their living quarters at their home base on the grounds of the Highway Department off Route 315. Plans were to remodel the cold storage building for their use.

Although this plan was approved by the Dormitory Authority of New York, it was scrapped because of the expense. A modular home or a side-by-side is being considered, with a breeze-way to connect it to the cold storage building with a garage installed.

It was thought to save money this way; however, it is unclear whether the new plan will be approved by DASNY. Senator Joe Griffo needs to submit a change of purpose.

Griffo said he thinks re-submitting will delay the process, a feeling shared by Town Supervisor Sue McConnell.
