Waterville Bikers Take On Trails

Unlike other sports with expensive equipment, Waterville Bike Club founder Joe Misiaszek said mountain biking is simple.


“All you really need is a helmet and a bike,’’ said the Waterville resident. “Any bike will get you started.’’


Misiaszek started the group to share his enthusiasm for tackling trails and back in the area. He also does it to promote the health benefits of being outside and moving to kids who have not yet found their passion to do so.


Five years ago this month Misiaszek said he was told by an ICU cardiologist that he needed to make some lifestyle changes quickly. “I’m lucky to be here,’’ Misiaszek said. “I was already into cycling a little and slowly worked my way into shape.’’
