Historian Inducted Into Hall Of Fame

June 13, 2018

The Village of Clinton and Town of Kirkland historian took home the honor of being the first person inducted into the Clinton Historical Society’s Hall of Fame.

Historian Richard Williams’ extensive background in local history warrants him the distinguished honor.

After earning degrees in both history and social studies, Williams taught at LaFayette High School for three years before moving on Whitesboro Senior High,  where he spent 12 years teaching social studies and 15 years as a vice principal of the school.

He’s authored over 10 books about local history and has been a member of the Clinton Historical Society since 1968 with two terms as the Society’s president. He was a contributing columnist for the Clinton Courier and now contributes weekly to the Waterville Times.
