The Hockeyville Community

In September Clinton will be receiving the Kraft Hockeyville trophy from the Rostraver Ice Garden in Belle Vernon, Pa.

Rostraver, built in 1965, won the 2017 Kraft Hockeyville title. The rink seats 5,000 and is in a suburb of Pittsburgh. Rostraver was the second of the first three Kraft Hockeyville USA winners to come from western Pennsylvania.

Teams that call Rostraver home include California University, two high schools and the Mon Valley Thunder Youth Hockey Association.

The Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues played the pre-season NHL game won by Rostraver, although it was moved to the nearby Lemieux Sports Complex, a practice facility for the Penguins. Events during their four-day celebration included a parade, youth hockey clinic, autograph sessions with players and alumni and an appearance by the Stanley Cup.
