Nail Salon Brings Craft To Clinton

April 25, 2018

This month marks the second year in business for one thriving Clinton shop.

TQ Nails & Spa at 18 College St. opened its doors in early April 2016. At the helm of the nail salon is Tee Trinh.

Trinh is a manicurist at TQ Nails & Spa. Her husband and brother-in-law own the business. Since the opening of the nail salon, Trinh has been working to keep customers coming in the door.

“We love the customers around here; they’re very nice,” she said.

Trinh worked in a nail salon in Vietnam for about three years before moving to America in 2006 with her husband. Her husband’s family was living in New Hartford, and that’s where Trinh began her new life in America.

She said her move to this country wasn’t easy. Trinh said the hardest part was dealing with the snowy and cold Central New York weather.

Trinh studied a bit of English in Vietnam. When she moved to America, she went to the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees in Utica to learn more English.
